CBS Eye: Have a dream

This picture of imaginative children with their homemade ads for their hometown was taken in front of The Hunt’s Point Public Library, a mansion for the Richie Riches in The South Bronx of America and beyond its borders thanks to Cyber Space.

This scene puts me back in a classroom at New York University.

On the first day of school, I was given homework to create a tour book to draw tourists to a town far removed from luxury hotels for millionaires and billionaires.

International students were asked to stand up to briefly highlight tourist attractions.

Everybody applauded for everybody but not for me, a recovering applause addict

What can I highlight about The South Bronx?

I had a marketing problem.

One wealthy well-traveled classmate looked at me and moved to another chair far, far away. He practically went back to Switzerland and locked himself in a bank vault before I went Bourne Identity on his arrogant ass. Better yet, call me The Bronx Identity.

It’s hard for anyone to believe my report on a teacher that went pale face like a ghost and her students that stared like I was dead man walking the last mile in a Chinese prison.

I locked myself in the computer room to burn the midnight oil for answers.

I love life more when the odds of a mission are impossible to overcome.

I have insanely great ideas because I’m crazy. Don’t mess with me.

These are the stories of our lives at The Public Library.

And we’re always working to get a better life for all.

Reading this means you’re on the same page

Now we make movie. That’s the answer.

Everybody happy.
